An AFL Quality Club

Penno Demons

Located in the North West of Sydney, the Pennant Hills Junior Football Club is a strong 50 year-old community football club providing local AFL players with exceptional opportunity to play AFL IN Sydney's North West. A number of juniors have gone on to represent the club at elite level including the Sydney Swans' co-captains Jarrad McVeigh & Kieren Jack, St Kilda's Lenny Hayes, ex-Essendon player Mark McVeigh and current Collingwood player Jarrod Witts.

Starting with a great Auskick program, we have teams in age groups from u8 to u17.

PRESENTATION DAY

Presentation day is Sunday 18th September at the Beecroft Bowling & Recreation Club at the following times:

Juniors (Auskick to u12): 9:00am for a 9:15am start, finishing at 10:45am
Youth (u13 to u17 & Umpires): 11:15am for a 11:30am start to 12:45pm

RETURN YOUR FOOTY JUMPER

If you haven't done so already, please bring your footy jumper with you for return to your manager. All jumpers must be returned at the end of the season, failure to do so will incur a $100 replacement jumper charge.

BRING IN YOUR OLD FOOTY BOOTS AND OTHER FOOTY GEAR FOR CHARITY

This year the committee has organised a used "footy boots" collection for a remote Junior Aboriginal footy club at the Halls Creek School in the Kimberley region in Western Australia. The students at this school and footy club are some of the most financially disadvantaged in Australia. Their one love is AFL footy - so lets collect all those old boots and bring them in to our Season 2016 Presentation Day for collection.

FOUR PENNO JUNIOR TEAMS PLAY THE GRAND FINALS!!

Amazing day of footy on Sunday 4th September for the Penno Junior Demons as they take out 2 premierships to equal last years record!!

The Penno Juniors Grand Finalists played brilliantly all day. In all games the boys sportsmanship and the way they carried themselves all day was exceptional and was commented upon by several opposition coaches in their after game speeches. Well done to the 4 teams that played Grand Finals yesterday.

The 4 teams were:
a) u11 North West Red coached by Ivatt Mitchell,
b) u12 division 2 coached by Joel Cousens,
c) u13 division 3 coached by Steve Protogeros, and
d) u15 division 2 coached by Justin Kerley.

We managed to secure 2 Premierships from those 4 games. The u13/3 team and the u15/2 team were victorious down at the Olds Park centre in Penshurst. Both games were absolutely superb to watch with the win coming down to the wire in both contests by less than a goal.

Final scores:
1) u11 Northwest – Penno Red 4-4-28 to Westbrook Red 7-8-50
2) u12 div2 – Penno 5-11-41 to Canada Bay 6-6-42
3) u13 div3 – Penno 4-3-27 to Glebe 3-4-22
4) u15 div2 – Penno 6-3-39 to Miranda 5-4-34

Congratulations to Steve & the u13 team, and Justin & the u15 team for gutsy performances and securing the 50th and 51st premierships for our great Junior club.

Commiserations to Ivatt & the u11 Red team, and Joel & the u12 team who missed out this year (the u12's by a single point!!). But the boys can hold their heads high – getting to the Grand Final is no small feat.

Thank you to all who attended the Post Grand Finals function at ‘the Ranch’ over at North Ryde. It was a very joyful occasion and all Grand Finals teams were represented with approx 150 parents, players and committee members in attendance. It was an awesome night where we told stories of the day and listened to the coaches recount the games including some of the most exciting moments.

Well done to all the teams, including coaches, managers, runners, water carriers, supporters, parents, club administration groups, and of course, our brilliant boys themselves!
